PUMPA in Paris

I love the theatre of the world’s great sporting events. That’s why I always head to Roland Garros, giving me an excuse (among others) to watch my beautiful friend Ana Ivanovic storm through the draw. I remember Ana once gave me a big scare in her match against Russian player, Makarova when she crashed to the ground while chasing a wide forehand. But trouper that she is, she got straight up, dusted the red clay off her little black dress and went on to win the match 7-5, 3-6, 6-1. I’ve been in trouble before for cheering on my favourite female  More...

PUMPA on Grass

And so each year I head towards the end of my tumultuous and tremulous return to ‘The Ol’ Dart’ with a few days at wonderful Wimbledon. And what better way to end my stay, than by surrounding myself with the green green grass of home, strawberries and cream and some sumptuous tennis-playing lovelies? Way back in 1996 my love for tennis was born… that was the year Melissa Johnson held up the start of the men’s singles final at Wimbledon with a wonderful streak across the net. Neither Richard Kraijek nor Malivai Washington seemed to mind…   More...

PUMPA at the World Cup

What a time I had in Rio during the 2014 World Cup. The city in which I grew up – driving fast cars and dating fast women – was simply pumping! (That’s me in disguise in the photo with two of my very best Brazilian friends!) While there, I was lucky enough to catch up with JLo and praise her stunning performance at the opening ceremony (even though I was a bit pissed off that she didn’t invite me up on stage)… and I also spent some time hanging out with Jennifer Ruiz Diaz after the games. (Talk about PUMPA!) The football was great too! Wha  More...

PUMPA in the Birdcage at Royal Randwick

The Australian Turf Club kindly invited me to attend Day 2 of ‘The Championships’ at Royal Randwick for the running of the world’s richest 2000m race, the $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Schweppes Sydney Cup. PUMPA doesn’t mind wearing a Top Hat and what better place to do so than at Royal Randwick racecourse for the running of two of the most prestigious races on the Australian thoroughbred calendar? During The Championships, racing fever ignites Sydney. Yes, there’s the world-class racing and fantastic entertainment, but ther  More...

PUMPA in Pattaya!

I regularly celebrate the annual Songkran (or New Year) Festival in beautiful Thailand, sending out a cheery “S̄wạs̄dī pī h̄ım̀” (or Happy New Year) to friends around the globe. I delight in all the pleasures this wonderful world has to offer, one of which is the chance to visit Thailand in April each year and take part in the traditional water fights – the biggest anywhere in the world – that are the focal point of their New Year celebrations (known as the Songkran Festival). April is the hottest month of the year over there so it  More...
